The Dens of Pack 228
Just like other Cub Scout packs, Pack 228 is divided into "Dens" of several boys of the same age. These Dens follow the ranks of Cub Scouting: Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and two levels of Webelos.
Tiger Dens
The Tiger Cub program is for first-grade (or age 7) boys and
their adult partners. It emphasizes shared leadership, learning about the
community, and family understanding.
There are five Tiger Cub achievement areas. The Tiger Cub, working with his adult partner, completes 15 requirements within these areas to earn the Tiger Cub badge. These requirements consist of an exciting series of indoor and outdoor activities just right for a boy in the first grade.

Wolf Dens
When boys complete the Tiger Cub program, or enter Cub Scouts
after completing the first grade (or are age 8), they begin learning the Cub Scout
Promise, the Cub Scout sign, and other basic requirements.
After mastering these skills, the boy has earned the Bobcat rank, and can begin working on the Wolf rank. Wolf Scouts develop ethical decision-making skills through this year-round, family- and home-centered program.
To earn the Wolf badge, a boy must pass 12 achievements involving simple physical and mental skills. Activities emphasize character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness.

Bear Dens
The Bear rank is for boys who have completed second grade (or are
age 9). Boys who enter the Cub Scout program at this age must first complete
the Bobcat rank. All boys in this den will continue to develop their decision-making
skills through this year-round, family- and home-centered program.
There are 24 Bear achievements in four categories. The boy must complete 12 of these to earn the Bear badge. These requirements are somewhat more difficult and challenging than those for Wolf rank.

Webelos Dens
This 2-year program is for boys who have completed third grade (or are
age 10). Boys who enter the Cub Scout program at this age must first learn the Cub
Scout Promise and other basic Cub Scout skills to complete the Bobcat rank. The first
year of Webelos, known as Webelos I, is the first step in his transition from the Cub Scout
pack to the Boy Scout troop. A boy may begin working on the Webelos badge as soon as
he joins a Webelos den.
As he progresses through the requirements found in the Webelos Handbook, he will attend meetings led by adults and work on activity badges. In the second year, Webelos II, the boys become more familiar with the Boy Scout requirements, eventually earning the Arrow of Light, Cub Scouting's highest award. The boys are then ready to "cross over" to our Boy Scout Troop
